He needs to look up some basic do's about sea kayaking, especially practice self rescue, I'm unsure why he couldn't flip it and get back on. He also needs to tether his paddle to his yak, so he can at least paddle, although I noticed he had those pedal flipper gizmos, but still should tie the paddle on in case a 4.5 meter White Pointer decides to rip those flippers off thinking it's looks like a struggling seal or something edible

07:11 spot on if you are going out far you need a vhf even a portable hand held one and a epirb if it happens and nobody is around and you cant be seen you will be drifting far far away well thats if old mate 🦈bruce 🦈 doesnt find you first

Great job getting him back. I picked up a guy on a rock once he had capsized in a large swell and the boat had gone down.

That kayaker should have had a leash from his paddle to his yak, and he definitely should have known the simple technique of righting a capsized yak, it's very simple for a yak like that, that is if he wants to live. Things could have gone far worse for that idiot.

First thing I learned when I went kayaking, was how to upright and get back on the Kayak! We intentionally capsized to practice this ! If you go out and you cant do that, its borderline suicide!

Hi Dom & James, great work. A lot of boaters would have missed him , I pick up a guy out of his kayak towed the yak from Cockburn sound back to calm water in Mangles bay, wind was strong he could not make head way. I think that guy should wash and polish your boats for the next 1or 2 years, lol
